Services Held For Harvey C. Schultz

Funeral services for Harvey C. Schultz were held Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1981 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Harvey C. Schultz, son of William J. H. and Emma (Busacker) Schultz, was born June 6, 1896 in Post Township, Allamakee County. He died Dec. 13, 1981 at Community Memorial Hospital in Postville.

He was baptized August 2, 1896 by Rev. F. H. Schumann and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville by Rev. R. Kuhne March 31, 1912. He attended the West Grove School in Post Township.

September 6, 1932 he was married to Hattie Vogt at the home of her parents in Farmersburg. To this union two daughters were born. They farmed in this area until 1944 when they moved to Postville. Harvey was employed as "Right-of-Way" supervisor for the REC for 14 years and was president of the Winneshiek Mutual Insurance Association of Decorah.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was very active in community organizations serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Postville State Bank for 36 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Arthur and Elvin, and two sisters, Amelia (Mrs. Emil Aulerich) and Pauline (Mrs. Henry Benjegerdes).

Surviving besides his wife, Hattie, are two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Joan) Moore and Mrs. Jack (Dellene) Hager, two grandchildren, Larry Moore and Joyce (Mrs. William L. Christofferson) all of Postville, and two great grandchildren, Jacob and Andrew Moore.
