Mrs. LLOYD W. (Aurelia Heins) SCHULTZ 1913-1996

Aurelia Schultz

Aurelia Schultz, daughter of Fred J. and Anna Minnie Catherine (Nuehring) Heins, was born January 7, 1913, on a farm northwest of Postville, Iowa. She died Thursday, April 4, 1996 at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville. She was 83 years old.

She was baptized Aurelia Minna Luelle Else Heins on February 23, 1913 in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville and confirmed there on August 15, 1926. She graduated from the Postville High School in 1930. On June 24, 1931 Aurelia was married to Lloyd W. Schultz. To this union, six children were born.

The couple lived in Postville where Lloyd was employed by Allamakee-Clayton Electric Cooperative (REC). Aurelia, with the help of her family, owned and operated the Lark Cafe in Postville for about five years. She later was employed by the Groth Turkey Processing Plant and then by the REC for 29 years.

She was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the WELCA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Anna Heins and her stepmother, Tillie Oldag Heins; her husband, Lloyd; a son, Velder; a grandson, Forrest G. Pollock; a great grandson, Forrest T. Pollock; two sons-in-law, Dean Landt and Kenneth Nelson; a granddaughter-in-law, Joan Pollock; and a grandson-in-law, Keith Benett; a brother, Harlen Heins and his twin brother, Carl, who died in infancy and a brother, Clarence, who also died in infancy, and a sister, Edna (Mrs. Walter Eberling).

Surviving are her children, Arlene and her husband, Gordon Pollock of Elgin; Yvonne Landt of Clayton, Judy Nelson of Clermont and her special friend, Bill Ashby of Fort Dodge; Sharon and her husband, Louis Becker, Jr. of Elgin and Richard Schultz and his wife, Jean of Iowa City; two sisters, Mrs. Romilda Koth and husband, Kenneth of Postville and Mrs. Marcella Milliren of Forest Lake, Minn.; two brothers, Roland Heins and wife, Irene of Elkader and Luther Heins and wife, Dorothy of Monona and a sister-in-law, Martha Heins of Postville.

Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, Vali Leeps, Scott Pollock, Tom Pollock, Deon Amundson, Beth Harris, Cheryl Slifka, Kimberly Ash, Shelby Eastman, Shane Landt, Tami Guyer, Brenda Nelson, Barry Nelson, Todd Nelson, David Becker, Gary Becker, Danny Becker, Jenni Schultz, Jason Schultz; 36 great grandchildren, Kayla and Leah Leeps, Zach, Eli, Jordan and Jenna Pollock, Andy, Alex and Grant Pollock, Mitch and Mason Amundson, Jory and Logan Harris, Celene and Sydney Slifka, Mick, Chris and Shaun Ash, Aaurica, Megan and Kyle Eastman, Aaron, Jared and Shannon Landt, Travis Smith, Lewis Guyer, Katie Nelson, Nate, Niki and Tyler Becker, Drew, Luke and Brooke Becker, Elizabeth, Brandon and Brittney Becker, several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Aurelia Schultz were held Monday, April 8, 1996 at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville. Barbara Knutson, Assoc. Interim Pastor, officiated. Joann Martins was the organist. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements.

Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
