ALBERT BENJAMIN SHAFER 1918-1984
Methodist Church, rural Postville, with Verdon Swenson, pastor, officiating. The Schutte Funeral service of Postville was in charge of arrangements.
Albert Benjamin Shafer, son of Benjamin and Clara Marie (Kostman) Shafer was born Feb. 15, 1918 in Ludlow Township, Allamakee county. He died Dec. 26 as the result of an automobile accident near Freeport, IL. He attended the Ludlow School No. 7 in Allamakee County. For a short time he was employed by the Rath Packing Company in Waterloo. He returned to the family farm which he farmed all of his life and moved to Rockford, IL about five years ago.
Surviving is a brother, Raymond of Waukon, four sisters, Esther (Mrs. Walter Schutte) and Bernice Hangartner, both of Castalia, Minnie (Mrs. Lloyd Block) of Postville and Velma (Mrs. Wayne Cleary) of Onaway, MI and several nieces and nephews.
