Bruce Michael Smith 1945-1963

Funeral services ere held Saturday, September 21, at St. Bridget's Church in Postville for Bruce M. Smith, 18, who passed away September 17 at Lackland Air Force Base at San Antonio, Texas. The Rev. J. A. Sullivan, pastor of St. Bridget's, officiated at the Requiem high Mass. Burial was in the Postville cemetery with military honors conducted by Air Force personnel from Truax Air Base, Madison, Wisconsin. Pallbearers were his classmates; honorary pallbearers were members of the local V.F.W. and the American Legion.

Bruce Michael Smith was born January 18, 1945, the son of Keith M. Smith and Rose Marie Brewer Smith. He was baptized February 4, 1945, at St. Bridget's Church. He graduated in 1963 from Postville high school. He was an active member of the football team, the wrestling squad, and he participated in F.F.A. He is survived by his parents; one brother, Phillip; two sisters, Connie and Virginia; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Smith; and many other relatives and friends.
