Mrs. HERMAN (Emma Lange) SNITKER 1896-1966

Mrs. Herman Snitker, nee Emma Fredechia Lange, daughter of the late Herman and Katherine Peck Lange, was born in Winneshiek county on August 4, 1896. She was baptized by Rev. Blessin in Winneshiek county. She attended the local public school. The deceased was confirmed by Rev. E. Vornholt, pastor of the Salem congregation on April 9, 1911.

On January 20, 1916, she was united in marriage to Herman Snitker by Rev. K. J. Stuebbe, in Frankville. Together they devoted their life to farming. They lived on the Snitker farm until 10 years ago when they moved to Postville. On October 2, Mrs. Snitker was taken to the Community Memorial Hospital here where she passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 7, at the age of 70 years, two months and three days.

Surviving are her husband, Herman; four sons, Raymond of Ludlow township, Wesley of Frankville, and Willard and Roland of Postville; two daughters, Lucille (Mrs. Lloyd Ludeking) of Ludlow, and Rececca (Mrs. William Hendrickson) of McGregor; one sister, Mrs. Lawrence Schultz of Luana; one brother, Arthur Lange of Elgin, Illinois; 22 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Edgar Russett and a brother, Eldo Lange, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held October 10 at the Salem United Church of Christ, Ludlow township, the Rev. Walter G. Clausing officiating. Burial was in the Salem cemetery.
