Robert Speece 1917-1962

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Erickson were notified last Thursday morning, August 16, of the sudden death of their son-in-law, Robert Speece of Novato, California.

Robert Speece was born at Belle Plaine, Iowa on February 24, 1917. He attended school in Iowa and Illinois, served eight years in the United States Navy and was married to Irene Erickson, formerly of Postville, on July 16, 1952. They have two daughters, Diane, 7 and Karen, 5.

The deceased was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Novato. Funeral services were held at the Redwood Chapel in Novato on August 20 with burial at the Golden Gate National cemetery in San Bruno, California.

Alvin Erickson of this community and his sister, Mrs. Evelyn Peterson of Kansas City, Kansas, flew from Kansas City to San Francisco to attend the funeral.
