DIED. At her residence in Postville, Jan 4th, 1890, of neuralgia, Mrs. Paulina Staadt, wife of Mr. A. Staadt, aged about 78 years. Mr. and Mrs. Staadt were married at New York in 1851. They came to Allamakee county in 1854 and settled on a farm, where they resided until 1866, when they came to Postville, since which time Mr. Staadt has been engaged in the drug business here. For about 24 years Mrs. Staadt was a great sufferer from neuralgia, much of the time life being a burden to her. During all her sufferings she was a kind and affectionate wife and mother and a noble woman. The sorrowing husband and son are solaced in their grief by the thought that the weary pain racked head is finally at rest, and in the land where she has gone to reside forever, "sickness and sorrow" "pain and death, are felt and feared no more".

Postville Review, 1/11/1890

Note: husband was Anton Staadt
