ANDERSON, HOLMAN, GUST, BROWN

RITES HELD WEDNESDAY
Last rites for Anton Anderson, 86, were held Wednesday afternoon at the McCullough chapel with the Rev. O. W. Brand officiating. The Algona merchant of 57 years died Monday afternoon.
Interment was made in Riverview cemetery. Pallbearers were Roy McMahon, Adrian Sterling, Ray Beamish, Paul Clark, Wesley Dutton and Dick Sjogren.
Mr. Anderson was in the meat and grocery business in Algona for 57 years, retiring in 1944 when the business was sold to Ray Beamish. He was born on June 7, 1866 in Norway and was brought to this country by his parents when he was four years. The family settled in Seneca township after a short stay in Allamakee county and when Anton was 16 years old, they came to Algona.
He married Rosa M. Holman on June 6, 1895. Of this union, five children were born.
Holman and Everett, of Algona; Mrs. Harold E. Gust (Abbie Marie) of Mobile, Ala.; Mrs. Will F Brown, of Algona; and Lyman, of Charleston, S. C.
These five children, his wife, and one brother Oscar, of Algona, survive in addition to eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
