Gloria B. Garcia, age 81, of LaCrosse, Wisconsin passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse. She was born on July 18, 1928 in Spring Grove, Minnesota to Leonard John and Vivian (Hefte) Beardmore. Gloria was a 1945 graduate of the Waukon High School in Waukon, Iowa. On September 21, 1946, Gloria married Frank Garcia at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.

Gloria taught elementary school at St. James Catholic School in LaCrosse for many years, retiring in 1994. She loved her family, friends, and students. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Frank on November 14, 1991; her father, her mother, her step-father Vince Foster, and her brother Romaine Beardmore.

She is survived by her three children: Frank (Vanda) Garcia of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Gloria (Dave) Servais of LaCrosse, and Anthony (Pam) Garcia of Holmen, Minnesota; four grandchiildren, Jason Garcia of Eau Claire, David (Kari) Servais of Lakeville, Minnesota, Bradley Servais (Jessica Huntington) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Vincent Servais of LaCrosse; two great-grandchildren, Bailey Servais and Peyton Servais; her step-mother, Evelyn Beardmore of Waukon, Iowa; her uncle, Roy Hefte of Winona, Minnesota; a step-brother, Fred (Lois) Foster of Minneapolis, Minnesota; a sister-in-law, Marian Beardmore of LaCrosse; two nephews, Jeff (Lillian) Beardmore and Mike (Noreen) Beardmore, both of Lafayette, Indiana, and her cat, Rocky.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Eighth and King Streets, LaCrosse with the Rev. Don Iliff officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Woodruff-Jandt Funeral Home in LaCrosse is in charge of arrangements.
