Harold Lloyd

Harold James Lloyd of Harpers Ferry, age 82, passed away October 4, 2013 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 8 at St. Pius Catholic Church, Cherry Mound in Harpers Ferry, officiated by Fr. John Moser. Burial was at St. Pius, Cherry Mound cemetery, rural Harpers Ferry.

Pallbearers were Bill Lloyd, Mike Lloyd, Rob Lloyd, John Lloyd, Randy Lloyd and Dan Lloyd.
Harold was born October 1, 1931 on his family farm in rural Harpers Ferry. Harold was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member of St. Pius Catholic Church. Harold worked as a farmer, hauled cattle and worked at Town & Country. Harold was proud of his Irish heritage, loved farming and his two-cylinder John Deere tractors and his Hereford beef cattle. Harold also enjoyed monitoring and studying weather, which led to him becoming an amateur meteorologist.

Harold is survived by a sister, Mary (Alan) Wolfe; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Stella (McNally) Lloyd; two brothers, Cyril and Robert Lloyd; and two sisters, Jean Powers and Dorothy Walters.
