Catherine Rose, 49, of Monona, died Friday, August 22, 2003, at her residence in Monona following a long illness. Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, August 26, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Monona. Rev. John W. Moran was the celebrant. Burial was in St. Pius Catholic Cemetery, Cherry Mound. Catherine Jane was born September 25, 1953, in Waukon to John J. and Myrtle (Delaney) Egan. She graduated from Waukon High School in 1971. Catherine was united in marriage to Charles "Tom" Rose on September 29, 1973, at St. Pius Catholic Church, Cherry Mound. Three children were born to this union. She worked at the button factory in Lansing, did day care for twenty five years, and also worked at Monona Wire. She was a DRE at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Monona for many years, was a member of the Rosary Society, and served on the parish council. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sewing, craft work, gardening, crocheting, collecting pottery and glassware, and cooking and baking. She loved the outdoors and being around kids. Survivors include her husband Charles "Tom" Rose; her children, Jeannie (Matt) Krambeer of Wadena, Dan (special friend Connie Dettman) of Washington, and Bradley of Monona; her mother, Myrtle Egan of Harpers Ferry; and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild in September; one sister, Judy (Bruce) Cliff of Patch Grove, Wis.; eight brothers, John (Deb) Egan of Luana, Gary (Cindy) Egan of Waukon, Jim Egan of Harpers Ferry, Joe (Mary) Egan of Waukon, Pat (Sarah) Egan of Monona, Mark (Lori) Egan of Waukon, Mike (Laurie) Egan of Monona, and Jerry Egan of Harpers Ferry; and a host of other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father and paternal and maternal grandparents. Casketbearers were Brian Egan, Chad Egan, Dustin Egan, Jason Cliff, John Murphy, Joe Rose, Jeff Hildebrand, Nathan Nielsen, and Ray Rose.
