Mark Duffy

Mark Dale Duffy, age 77, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Northgate Care Center in Waukon. Visitation was held Thursday, August 29 with a private family service following.
Mark was born October 8, 1935 in Spring Grove, MN to Raymond and Marjorie (Byrnes) Duffy. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dorchester. He attended country school through eighth grade and then went on to farming.
Mark married Mary Ann Troendle, and they later divorced. To this union there were six children born. Mark loved visiting with people. In his younger years he took great pride in working with his draft horse teams and taking them to horse pulls.
Mark is survived by his daughters and sons, Bev Needham (Rich Barnes) of Waukon, Connie (Gary) Mikesh, Annie Riehm (Jim Iverson) and Dave Duffy (Jodi Herman), all of Decorah, and Raymond Duffy of Minneapolis, MN; his siblings, Betty (Glen) Wiemerslage of La Crosse, WI, Ilene (Jim) Dougherty of Dorchester, Mary Lou (Donnie) Heintz of LaCrescent, MN, Theresa Johnston of Houston, MN, Lorna (Ron) Schock of California, and Vicki (Robert) Cavanaugh of Caledonia, MN; 10 grandchildren, Dave Fish, Dale Fish, Christy Stone, Sara Needham, Jake Needham, Sommer Duffy, Patrick Stone, Perry Stone, Jessica Mikesh and Tiffany Riehm; two step-grandchildren, Amanda Powell and DeSiree Brackett; and many nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceeded in death by his parents, Raymond and Marjorie Duffy; his daughter, Barb Fish; a sister, Jane O’ Brien; and a grandson, Ty Riehm.
Honorary pallbearers were Mark’s grandchildren. Hanson Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
