Bernice Abrahamson

Bernice Abrahamson, 97, of Canton, Minn., died Friday, July 2, 1999, at the Eastern Star Home in Decorah.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 5, at 11 a.m., at the Canton-Scotland Presbyterian Church in Canton, Minn., with the Rev. James Scaife officiating.

Burial was at the Elliota Cemetery, rural Canton. The Lindstrom Funeral Home of Harmony, Minn., handled arrangements.

Bernice (Eastman) Abrahamson was born at Lansing July 7, 1901, the daughter of Eric and Lily Eastman. She was united in marriage with Vernon M. Abrahamson Aug. 17, 1927, and they farmed in Fillmore County in Minnesota.

Bernice taught school at Canton and following her marriage was a homemaker. She was quite active in her community.

Survivors include her son, V. R. (Sue) Abrahamson of Harmony, Minn.; two daughters, Arlyn (Truman) Storvick of Columbia, Mo. and Ruth (David) Myhre of Cincinnati, Ohio; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, V. M. Abrahamson and 2 brothers, Ralph and Harry Eastman.
