Jody J. Ingwersen, 54, of Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Waukon, died Wednesday, February 12, 1997 at her home in Indianapolis. Funeral services were held Monday, February 17, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. at Salem United Church of Christ in rural Waukon, Iowa, with Rev. Jack Frohn officiating. Burial was held in Salem Cemetery.
Jody Jane Ingwersen was born March 9, 1942 in Waukon, IA, to Roland and Esther (Flage) Kiesau. She was baptized and confirmed at Salem United Church of Christ. Jody attended the Frankville Elementary School and graduated from Waukon High School in 1960, then furthering her education at Iowa State University in Ames. On June 1, 1963 she was married to John Ingwersen in Ames. Jody and John lived in Ames, Cherokee, Iowa Falls, California, Hoffman Estates and since 1992, have lived in Indianapolis. She worked as a homemaker and also as the city editor for the Cherokee Daily Times in Cherokee, IA, for two years, when she lived there.
Jody enjoyed sewing and crafts as well as painting and was good at rosemalling. She enjoyed giving handmade Christmas gifts. She was also an excellent cook and baker and liked to garden and raise flowers. Her passion was her family and she loved to follow her girls activities and sporting event throughout their high school and college days.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, John, daughters Kirsten and husband, Ken Kabacinski and their son Christopher of St. Charles, MO, Gretchen Ingwersen of Schaumburg, IL, and Erin Ingwersen of Indianapolis, a brother Ken and wife, Sue Kiesau, of Neenah, WI, and her sister, Mary Kiesau of Bloomington, MN.
Casketbearers were Irvin Flage, Leo Flage, Gary Flage, Dean Flage, Danny Schillter and Jim Natzke.
