SUDDEN DEATH OF HENRY KOSBAU, SR.

The many relatives and friends of Henry Kosbau received a real shock whey they heard of his sudden death Saturday while seated in the Gerke Barber Shop awaiting his turn. Deceased had been in fairly good health and had partaken of a hearty noon day meal after working most of the forenoon about his garden and yard.

Deceased was born August 9, 1857, on a farm a couple of miles east of Waukon and resided there continuously until he took up his residence in Waukon about ten years ago. He was united in marriage to Miss Amelia Halbroder, January 4, 1884 and to this union nine children were born, one of them, Esther dying in December 26, 1918.

Besides his widow he leaves to mourn his untimely loss four sons and four daughters, namely Mrs. Albert Gundacker, Mrs. John Jacobson, Mrs. Paul Larson and Mrs. Carl Groetzinger. Henry, Jr., Charles, john and Theodore, all of whom reside in this city or vicinity. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Caroline Kriegner and one brother, August Kosbau of this city and thirteen grandchildren.

The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Zion Reformed church with Rev. Elliker presiding at the services and to show their esteem of the deceased the large edifice was filled with relatives and friends. Interment was made in Oakland cemetery.
