Waukon, Ia.-Special: James Deviney, 68, died suddenly Tuesday afternoon while talking with friends. The remains are resting at the Martin Brothers Funeral Parlors. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.

Mr. Deviney was born in August, 1875, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Deviney, in French Creek Township, and spent all his life in Allamakee County.

Surviving are his wife, Mason City, Ia.; three sons, Harold of Waterloo, Ia., William and Vincent, both of Mason City; two daughters, Mrs. Dale Carrier, New Ulm, Minn., and Mrs. Harold Bullen, Charles City, Ia.; five brothers, Peter, Thomas, John, and Martin, all of Waterloo, and Emmett, of Minneapolis, and five sisters, Mrs. Mike Fitzgerald, Waterloo, Mrs. Herbert Dibble, Pipestone, Minn., Mrs. Peter Miller, St. Cloud, Minn., Mrs. Anna Killiam, Des Moines, Ia., and Mrs. Warren Core, Minneapolis, Minn.

Waukon, Ia. - Funeral services for James Deviney, 69, who died suddenly while visiting with friends on a street here Wednesday evening, were held at St. Patrick's Church Saturday morning. The Rev. Ernest J. McDonald, pastor, celebrated the requiem mass. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lycurgus, Ia. Surviving are his widow, three sons, two daughters, five brothers, and five sisters, all of whom were in attendance at the services.
