Waukon, Ia. - Funeral services for James Ford, 84, pioneer Allamakee County resident, will be held Friday morning at St. Pius Catholic Church at Cherry Mound with the Rev. Albert H. Nees, pastor, celebrating the requiem mass. Burial will be in the nearby cemetery*.

Mr. Ford died early Wednesday at his home in Waterville following a long illness.

He was born and raised on a farm in Taylor Township, his parents being Mr. and Mrs. James Ford, Sr. He farmed until 10 years ago, since which time he lived in Waterville

Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Rosina at home; and a brother, Thomas, north of Waukon.

*Note: the 'Woodmansee' burial records show that burial is in St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery (Paint Rock cemetery) rather than the Cherry Mound cemetery.

He also had an obituary in the Allamakee Journal and the Waukon Democrat. Allamakee County does not have a copy of Death Records for that time. His wife was Mary (Ford) Ford-1942 Paint Rock. Mary's father =John Ford. Mary Ford had funeral services at St Patrick's Church Waukon with burial at Paint Rock.
