Waukon, Ia. - A young Waukon couple, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Senneff, drowned in the Mississippi River early Friday morning at Waukon Junction where they had spent the Fourth of July holiday with friends. Both were 24 years old (see 2nd article). Mrs. Senneff, who could not swim, was riding on the font deck of a motorboat as it was crusing the river around 2:30 a.m. Witnesses reported she apparently lost her balance and fell into the dark water. Her husband, who was considered a good swimmer, went to her rescue, but failed. The bodies have not yet been recovered, although dragging operations continued throughout the [illegible].
Senneff was a son of Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Senneff. Mrs. Senneff being the former Dorothy Jordan of New Albin. Mr. Senneff is survived by his parents and two brothers, Duane and Paul, both at home. Mrs. Senneff's survivors include two sisters, Irene, a student nurse at Kansas City, Mo., and Eleanor Jordan, a student at Winona Teachers' College.

Double Funeral at Waukon For Young Couple
Waukon, Ia. - A double funeral was held here Tuesday afternoon at the Martin Brothers Funeral Home for Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Senneff, young Waukon couple who drowned last Friday morning in the Mississippi River near Waukon Junction while on a motorboat cruse. Her body was recovered about 10 hours later, while her husband's body was not found until late Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Senneff was 23 years old and her husband, 22.The last rites were conducted by the Rev. August Grossheim, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. The bodies were buried side by side in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers for Mr. Senneff were: Urban and Charles Pratt, Leslie Fink, Delbert Stone, Clarence Opfer, and Donald Frink. The casketbearers for his wife were: Clarence and Harold Jordan, Paul Senneff, Robert Stillwell, Dale Robey, and Valeria Dundee.
Mr. Senneff was born Oct. 24, 1917 at Elkader, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray L. Senneff. At an early age he accompanied his parents to Waukon, where his father was transferred as manager of the Eclipse Lumber Company. He was graduated from Waukon High School where he was an outstanding athlete. He was in the local contracting business, being a member of the firm of Senneff, Stillwell and Robey.
Mrs. Senneff was born May 8, 1916 at New Albin, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jordan. Her father was killed in an automobile accident a number of years ago and her mother has since remarried.
The couple was married in June, 1938.
Surviving Mr. Senneff are his parents and two brothers, Duane and Paul, both at home. His wife's survivors include her mother, Mrs. William McMullen of Saskatchewan, Canada; two sisters, Irene, a student nurse at Kansas City, and Eleanor, a student at Winona, Minn., Teachers' College; and a half-brother, Glen McMullen of Saskatchewan.
