Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 24, for Norbert M. "Bud" Protsman, 65, who died Saturday, Oct. 20, at his New Albin home. Pastor Nancy Anderson conducted the 2 p.m. services at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in New Albin. Burial with graveside military services by Kenneth Casey VFW Post 5603. Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home of Lansing was in charge of arrangements.

He was born Dec. 29, 1924, in Lansing to Albert and Ferne Sandry Protsman. He and Donna Mae Ames were married Feb. 15, 1947; she died July 22, 1988. A sawyer at Meyer's Lumber in New Albin, he was also an Army veteran.

Surviving are two sons, Norbert A. of Denver, CO and Ron of Waterloo; a daughter, Tamie Steele of Eagan, MN; four grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence "Dutch" Protsman of Lansing and Albert Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, and a sister, Alvina Yohe of Houston, MN.

Casket bearers were Ray Mullholland, Dave Steele, Ed Colsch Sr., Leo Whalen, Tom Zeimet and Gerald Plagge.
