OBITUARY - Mrs. JANE HEALY

Mrs Jane Healy, an old time Wexford resident, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 6th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs John Brannan, of Paint Rock. She was about 68 years old and had lived in Wexford since her early childhood. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Michael Mooney and grew to young womanhood on the farm now owned by M.E. Mooney. After her marriage to Thos. Healy they lived for a while on the Healy homestead going from there to the Heatly farm in the valleey, which they purchased. There several of her children born and reared, and there in the spring of 1911 the beloved husband and father passed to his eternal reward. After his death Mrs. Healy seemed to decline, both in health and spirit, and although she made a brave struggle to maintain her and useful life, her physical condition finally made it necessary fir her to lay aside the cares and burdens of a home and about a year ago she retired to the home of her daughter, who assisted by the remainder of the family, gave her the best of love and care. Mrs. Healy was a devout and faithful member of the Catholic church and when able and active was a great worker in every good cause. She was a true Christian, both in word and in deed, a good nmeighbor and a most loving wife and mother, one of whm it could truly be said "her children rise up and call her blessed." She leaves to mourn her loss, Urban of Wexford and Joe of Dubuque, and three daughter, Mrs Brennan, Mrs John Kaveny of Waukon and Mrs W. O'Brien of Paint Rock; also two sisters, Mrs Bridget Kernan of Wexford and Mrs James Brennan of Georgia; besides thirteen grandchildren. One son, Alfred, died in childhood. She was buried in the Wexford Cemetery Thursday morning after a Requiem High Mass celebrated by Rev. Father Laffan, assisted by Rev. Father Sheenan of Paint Rock. The Lady Foresters of which society she was a member, attended in a body. A large number from Wexford, Paint Rock and other neighboring places were in attendance. The pallbearers were six nephews, James, John F. and M. E. Mooney, Ed Duncan, Thomas Kernan and Wm. Melaven. All the children and grandchildren were present at the funeral.
