Waukon, Ia. - Funeral services for John Clauson, 70, retired farmer, who died suddenly at his home in East Waukon Wednesday afternoon, were held from the Bakke and Hanson funeral home to the Waterloo Ridge Lutheran church, Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Chris Heitne, pastor, officiated, and burial was in the nearby cemetery. Death was attributed to a heart ailment.

Mr. Clauson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Clauson, was born on a farm in Waterloo township on May 23, 1875. He was married to Melinda Erickson, and they made their home on a farm until they retired to Waukon nine years ago.

Surviving are two sons, Henry, who enlisted in the navy five weeks ago, and John Jr., at home; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Morken, Highlandville, Ia., Mrs. E.J. Ellingson, Spring Grove, Minn., and Mrs. O.S. Houge, Seattle, Wash.; and two brothers, Martin Clauson, Spring Grove, and Oscar Clauson, Milwaukee, Wis.
