Waukon, Ia. - Funeral services for Charles F. Deeny, 67, who died Saturday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Walter Linderbaum, Ossian, Ia., where he had been cared for during the past five weeks, since he returned from St. Francis' hospital, La Crosse, Wis., will be held from St. Patrick's church, Waukon, Wednesday morning. The Rev. Ernest J. McDonald, pastor, will celebrate the requiem mass. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Lycurgus.

Mr. Deeny was born on a farm in Makee township on Dec. 27, 1877, a son of Mr. and Mrs. James G. Deeny. He was married to Sarah McCormick on May 5, 1908, and they made their home on the farm until 1931, when the family came to Waukon.

He is survived by three sons, Sgt. Joe Deeny, now in Japan, Seaman 1-c Delbert Deeny, home on a 30-day leave after service in the south Pacific, and Harold Deeny, Waukon; four daughters, Mrs. Louis Ettledorf, Union Prairie township, Mrs. Leslie Loveland, Waukon, Mrs. Walter Linderbaum, Ossian and Mrs. Forrest LaVelle, Waukon; one brother, William Deeny, Waukon; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Long, Waukon, Mrs. Grover Wilson, Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Ralph Sullivan, Pullman, Wash.; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded by his wife, who died Dec. 27, 1931.
