Theron Dale "Terry" Robey, the son of Dale and Elnora (Jordan) Robey, was born in Richmond, California, September 28, 1943. Except for two years when he was tutored at home, Theron attended school in Waukon and graduated with his class from the Waukon High School in 1961. While in high school he played in the band, lettered in golf, and was active in speech, dramatics, and in operettas. He was a National Merit Scholarship finalist.

Theron was baptized and confirmed in the First Presbyterian Church in Waukon, Iowa. He attended church school and Westminister Fellowship regularly and sang in the church choir until graduation from high school.

Theron began college at the University of California, Berkeley but transferred to Contra Costa Community College in Richmond. When he finished his course work there, he enrolled at California State Polytechnic College in Pomona, majoring in nuclear physics. Though his studies were interrupted by complications arising from a congenital heart defect, he was working on his senior project and planning to eventually enter graduate school when a final attack on his heart ended his life on earth Sunday, August 20, 1967.

Theron was preceded in death by his younger sister, Jan, who died in infancy. He is survived by his parents, Dale and Elnora Robey; his sister, Revelyn, Mrs. Francis Lonning of Waukon; four nieces; his grandmothers, Mrs. Ray Robey and Mrs. J.W. McMillin, in addition to many other relatives and friends whose interest and prayers have been helpful to him in his lifelong struggle against a severe handicap. His courage and integrity have been an inspiration to all who have known and loved him.

Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, Iowa. Pallbearers were Charles Powell, Kent Powell, David Powell, Kenneth Dickson, Martin Heller, and William Ohloff. Mrs. Floyd Larson provided the sacred organ music and accompanied the soloist, Elmo Hagen. Rev. William J. Tjaden was the minister and Martin Brothers Funeral Home of Waukon, Iowa helped the family with the arrangements.
