Katheryn Kaye Ellenbolt, 72, of Lansing, Iowa died Thursday, May 30, 2013 at her home in Lansing, Iowa.

She was born on February 24, 1941 to LeRoy and Jean (Bloxham) Ellenbolt in Postville, Iowa. She graduated from Lansing High School.

Katheryn worked in Independence for a short while. She also worked at the Button Factory and Thornton Manor, both in Lansing and Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. She enjoyed fishing, reading, watching western movies and butterflies. Anyone who knew Kathy knew of her genuine beautiful smile. Her love covered you like a cloak. When she was around there was a sense of friendship and love that only Kathy could make you feel. She was a loving and caring person and it didn’t matter who you were, you became a friend. Her most cherished friend in life was her brother, Clark. She was always there watching over him and we believe she always will.

Katheryn is survived by her brother, Clark (Connie) Ellenbolt of West Salem, Wisconsin; her niece, Heidi Ellenbolt; her nephew, Travis Ellenbolt and four great nieces and nephews, Austin, Marshall, Keaton and Aleah.

Katheryn was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Ellenbolt and her parents.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 4, from 4-8 p.m. at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Lansing, Iowa and one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, at the United Methodist Church in Lansing, Iowa with Rev. Kevin Smith as the officianting.

Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lansing, Iowa.

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Lansing, Iowa assisted the family with the arrangements.
