Postville Review, Saturday, 4 June 1881.

A son of Chas Jones, on Yellow River, who has been subject to epileptic fits, was drowned in eighteen inches of water, in a creek that flows into a larger stream, on Wednesday of last week. He was fishing along the stream and it is supposed he was attacked with a fit and fell in the water and thus drowned.

NOTE: "Wednesday of last week" would have been May 25, 1881, the exact death date given in the Woodmansee burial book for Jones, J. Alfred 10-29-1860 / 5-25-1881, who is buried in lot 464 of Oakland cemetery (Main) at Waukon. Also note that there are 7 other Jones burials in that same cemetery and lot.
