Brownell, Lincoln C. 1867-1945

Waukon, Ia. - Relatives here have been notified of the death of Lincoln C. Brownell, formerly of Waukon, at the home of his son, Dr. Durwin H. Brownell, San Diego, Calif. Burial took place at San Diego.

Mr. Brownell was born at Village Creek, east of Waukon, on April 6, 1867, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Brownell. The family moved to Waukon soon after his birth. In 1889 he engaged in railroad work for the Soo line at Gladstone, Mich., and after 48 years retired as an engineer.

He was married Aug. 23, 1904, to Florence Hall, of Waukon. A few years ago they sold their home at Gladstone and retired to San Diego.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Dr. Brownell; a brother, Dr. Will Brownell, Ft. Collins, Colo.; and one grandchild.
