Gerald "Jerry" McKenna

Gerald "Jerry" McKenna was born in Caledonia, MN April 26, 1955 to Harold and Evangeline McKenna. Jerry was raised in New Albin and Waterville. He graduated from Waukon High School in 1973. He attended Loras College.

In 1982 he moved to Denver. He married Annie Sims in 1992 and they made Boulder their home for 29 years. He graduated from Colorado Christian University with a BS in Organizational Management and got his master’s in Business Management at same. He and Annie had their own electrical contracting business.

Jerry loved family and the outdoors, fishing the creeks near Waterville, boating Lake Powell, climbing the Rocky Mountains or hitting balls on the golf course - he was happiest outdoors. Cancer took him way too soon.

Jerry loved northeast Iowa and wanted to be set to rest here where he will be near his parents, grandparents and siblings at the New Albin Catholic Cemetery. There will be a short graveside blessing after the 10 a.m. Mass Sunday, May 26. Family and friends will gather at the New Albin Community Center for lunch.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald and sisters Clara Marie, Theresa, Susan and Patricia. He is survived by brothers Kenny, Tom and Brian and sisters Kay, Michelle, Colleen, Bridget, Vangie, Connie and Maureen. He will especially be missed by his wife Annie, daughter Rachel (John) and grandsons Darian, Dante and Dawson.
