Mrs. Peter Beucher, one of Postville's oldest residents, passed away at her home in this city at nine o'clock on Tuesday evening, August 30, 1932, following an illness of several weeks duration.
Caista Gano was born March 20, 1848, in the state of Ohio, and came to Iowa with her parents at an early age, the family settling on a farm near Springfield, just south of this city.
In 1866 she was united in marriage to Peter Peucher, and the family home was established in Postvile, where she continued to reside until her demise.
Mr. Beucher passed away on December 8, 1913.
Since the death of the husband and father she and her daughter Jennie have resided alone, the latter tenderly caring for her mother during the intervening years until her demise.
Mrs. Beucher was the mother of four children: William, who died at the age of 12; and those surviving are Mrs. John Dulin of Oskaloosa, Iowa; Mrs. Ormus Trudo of route one, Postville; and Miss Jennie Beucher at home. There are also 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased was a good wife, mother, neighbor and friend, and all who knew her will sympathize with those bereft.
The funeral was held this forenoon at 11 a.m. from the home, Rev. R.F. Galloway officiating. Interment in the Postville cemetery.
