Death of Mrs. Edward Gruber

Mrs Ed. Gruber of this township passed to her eternal reward Friday July 17, after an extended illness with heart disease., Deceased was born April 26, 1868. Her maiden name was Mary Henry and she was the daughter of the late Charles Henry of Makee township, who died Nov. 10, 1909. She was married to Mr. Gruber June 12, 1894, and three children, Florence, Clifford and Harold, survive with the husband to mourn the loss of a fond mother and dutiful wife. Besides these are her mother, four sisters, Mesdames Chas., Haas, Gus Gruber and Moritz Gruber of this county and Gus Leppert of Berlin, N. D. And four brothers, Charles, Andrew, John and Joseph Henry, who have the heartfelt sympathy of many friends in their hour of affliction and sorrow.

The funeral took place from the family residence in Lansing township, one of the finest homes in the county, Sunday afternoon. Rev. Kegel officiating, and was very largely attended, there being seventy-five teams in the procession and fifteen or twenty autoes that preceded the sorrowful cortege to Oak Hill cemetery, where the remains were tenderly laid away.

Sorrow Hath Come, Her lips are dumb.
That ever to us have spoken;
Her eyes are sealed, Her pain is healed--
On earth are the sad hearts broken.

Mother and Wife, A goodly life-
Her clouds had a silver lining;

Death’s Angel, drear, Kept hovering near-
His cold hands her frail form entwining.

Her husband dear, Her children here-
Must tread life’s pathway of sorrow-
But soon or late, It is our fate,
To wake in Heaven’s tomorrow.
CARD OF THANKS.

We desire to extend our heartfelt thanks to the many kind friends and neighbors who so generously assisted us by acts of kindness and words of sympathy during the sickness and death of our dear wife and mother.

EDW. GRUBER AND FAMILY
