Ellen M. McMaster died at Northwood, Iowa, Nov. 6, 1901. The deceased was born in Fairfax, Vermont, in 1831, where she joined the Baptist church in early life. She came to Iowa in 1865 and to Postville in 1883, where she has since resided.

Last July on account of failing health she was taken by her brother, H.J. McMaster to his home at Northwood, where she remained till the time of her death. Her remains were brought here for burial. The funeral services were held at the Congregational church and were conducted by Rev. S.W. Pollard. The interment took place at Grand Meadow cemetery.
