Death of Charles Haas of Lycurgus

Charles Haas, a life long farmer of Lycurgus, died at his home Tuesday forenoon, his death being caused by a second paralytic stroke which he suffered the latter part of the week. He had first been stricken a little over a week ago.

He was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Landelin Haas pioneer residents of Allamakee county and was born and raised on the old home farm adjoining Lycurgus.

He is survived by his widow who was Miss Hannah Henry and by six children, Mrs. Elsie Peterson of Berlin N.D.; Mrs. Hazel Medicus, New Albin; Leo, Williard, Marie and Irene at home. He also leaves to mourn his loss the following sisters, Mrs. Ed. Teeling and Mrs. Joe Hoffman of Lycurgus, Miss Ellen Haas and Mrs. Schierbrock of West Point, Ia.; Mrs. Teresa Kirby, Seattle; Sister M. Leonina, La Crosse, and Miss Margaret residing in Lansing. He was preceded in death by his aged mother who passed away August 21 of this year and by his father, who died June 30, 1895, also by two sisters, Mrs. R Rachor and Mrs. V. Rachor both of Lansing township.

The funeral services will be held Thursday morning at Lycurgus church with burial in the Lycurgus cemetery.
