Postville Review, Sat., 12 Dec. 1885.

Roy Clark Webster, aged 9 years, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Webster, of Postville, Io., was killed by a colt which he was feeding on Tuesday morning, Dec. 3rd, 1885. The funeral services, conducted by Rev. S. T. McKim, were held at the home on Saturday at half past ten. Roy's schoolmates marched through the house under the care of their teachers, looking for the last time on the familiar face - a touching scene. He was buried at Castalia. On the following day, at Sunday School, the Superintendent spoke of Roy's promptness, his regular attendance, and how greatly he would be missed.

God's ways are myterious, but they are best. We cannot understand His ways, for "they are past finding out." But this we all know - it is better to give up our children while young and innocent than to see them enter the list of ruined manhood.

Mr. and Mrs. Webster have the sympathy of the entire community.

Little Roy, how I'll miss you
Coming up the garden walk.
How I'll miss your little footsteps,
How I'll miss your childish talk.

Little Roy, oh how often
Will the last words that you said
Come with sadness to my memory
When I think that Roy is dead.

When I think how little Roy
Flew with sadness from my door,
Saying, "Mama I can never
See her sufferings any more."

But dear Jesus wanted Roy
For a jewel in the crown
That for mama He is fitting
When she lays her armor down.

And how soon she'll meet her darling
When the cares of life are o'er,
She will meet her little Roy,
Meet again to part no more.
