George W. Swenson

Memorial services for George W. Swenson, 70, Cedar Rapids were held Tuesday, June 9, at 10:30 a.m., at Cedar Memorial Chapel, Cedar Rapids. Burial was in Cedar Memorial Park. Verdon "Bud" Swenson, Postville officiated.

George was born October 24, 1910 and lived in Postville until he moved to Cedar Rapids.

He was married to Genevieve Parks who preceded him in death in 1973. He retired the same year after owning and operating Swenson Skelly Service for many years prior to joining Skelly Oil Company headquarters in Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include 2 daughters: Barbara Stenerson, Marion and Betty Meyer, Mechanicsville; 5 grandchildren; 2 brothers: Hall of Postville and Roland of Park Ridge, Ill.; a sister, Florence Ruckdaschel, Postville.
