Eliza T. Green was born in Cayuga Co., New York, Oct. 27, 1830, and died at the home of her son, L. M. Taylor, in Bucklin, Kansas, Nov. 1, 1912, aged 82 years and four days. She was married to Hilem B. Taylor, May 18, 1853. They lived in New York until October 1871, when they moved to Allamakee Co., Iowa, and resided on a farm near Hardin for a short time and then moved to Postville in Feb. 1875, where her husband died Nov. 11, 1894. To this union were born eight children, five boys and three girls, namely: B. F. Taylor of Los Angeles, Cal.; Ida M. Buttolph of Bucklin, Kan.; Mary Bellows of Postville; Lee N. Taylor, who died Oct. 16, 1876; L. M. Taylor of Bucklin, Kan.; H. B. Taylor of Wichita, Kan.; W. P. Taylor of Los Angeles, Cal.; Ella Burdick of Luana, Iowa.

Although she never united with any church, she was a regular attendant of the M. E. church when health permitted, and was universally known as a woman of many christian attributes and characteristics and was beloved by a wide circle of friends.

She was a resident of Postville for over 37 years and a women we all know to have been a faithful wife, a loving and dutiful mother, a good neighbor and friend, who in the fullness of years has been called to her reward.

The funeral was held from the home in this city Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 5, conducted by Rev. W. R. Mellot of the M. E. church. Interment in Postville cemetery.
