Peter McEwen, the only remaining brother of James McEwen of this city, died at St. Luke's Hospital in San Francisco, Cal., on Aug. 23rd, of enlargement of the liver of a cancerous nature. He was 74 years of age and had never been married. He was manager of Union Bank of Quebec, Canada, for more than 15 years and resigned his position upon going to San Francisco about 12 years ago, where he filled a position as Secretary of the Geographical Society of California until a short time before his death. The remains were cremated.
