Hannah M. Beedy was born in Stratford, Vermont, Nov. 4th, 1828, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs L. M. Taylor, in Bucklin, Kansas, Friday, April 5, 1912, at 10 p.m., in her 84th year.

She was married to Charles Hardy Barnes in June of 1850 at Beloit, Wisconsin. In 1852 they moved to Hardin, Iowa, living near there until 1888, when they moved to Postville, where they lived until her husbands death, March 8, 1893. Since her husband's death she has lived with her daughter, and in 1905 she came with her to Bucklin. She was the mother of five children, two sons and three daughters. One son, H. C. Barnes, and one daughter, Mrs. L. M. Taylor, both of this city, survive her.

At the age of fifteen she was converted and joined the Methodist church, since which time she has been a faithful, and until her health forbid, an active worker in the cause of Christ.

She had been in failing health for several months, being confined to her bed but a few days with heart trouble.

The funeral service was conducted from the residence of L. M. Taylor, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 by the Rev. Doughty, and interment was made in the Bucklin cemetery.- Bucklin (Kan.) Banner.
