Postville Review, Fri., 12 May 1911.

Henry Lammert was born in Grebs, Germany, Nov. 7, 1826, and died at the home of Mrs. Fred Lammert, near Postville, at 9:30 Tuesday morning, May 2, 1911, aged 84 years, 5 months and 25 days. Mr. Lammert's death was due to no specific ailment other than the infirmities of age, as on the morning in question he arose as usual and as he was about to sit down in a chair when he fell to the floor unable to rise. His grandsons helped him back to his bed and shortly afterward his weary spirit took its flight.

He was married in Germany to a Miss Pannke, and to this union were born five children, all of whom are dead but one son, Johann, of Glenham, S.D. After the death of his wife in May 1893 he emigrated to America, settling with his son, Fred, who died a year ago. He was an old christian man and wished to take holy communion in church on Pentecost, but now he will see him on whom he has believed. He is survived by a son, 3 daughtersinlaw, 17 grandchildren and many neighbors and friends.

The funeral was held from the Lutheran church, Thursday, May 4th, at twelve o'clock, Rev. R. Kuehne officiating. Interment in the Postville cemetery.
