Rasmus Christopherson was born in Norway, May 17, 1815, and died at the home of his son, Hans, west of Postville, at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 1908, aged 92 years, 10 months and five days, death resulting from the infirmities of age. He was a member of the Lutheran church in Norway. His wife died in Norway in 1871. He was the father of eight children, seven of whom survive. He came to Allamakee Co., Iowa, in 1873, and has always made his home with his son, Hans Christopherson. He was always a very industrious man and ever trying to do something for others. He was a sympathizing father and respected by all who knew him.

The funeral was held from the late home at 2 o'clock Tuesday. Interment in the Postville cemetery.
