Mrs. Laughlin dies Here Wednesday.

The death of Mrs. Andrew Laughlin, 87, occurred Wednesday afternoon at her home in this city, due to complications of age. As Ella Dougherty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Dougherty of Makee township, where she born on July 8, 1862. There she attained womanhood and on Feb. 27, 1895, was married to Andrew Laughlin at St. Mary's church, Lycurgus. That vicinity was the family home for over forty years. Their union was blessed by two sons and three daughters, all of whom are living. They are Kenneth, Lowell, MA., Dr. A. D. Laughlin, Cullman, AL., Mrs. William Walsh, La Crosse, Mrs. Leo Welch, Lycurgus, and Gertrude who was her mother's constant companion and cared for her in her declining years. There are 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mr. Laughlin died on Dec. 4, 1938, and the following April Mrs. Laughlin and Miss Gertrude came to Waukon to make their home. She was the surviving member of her family of seven children. The remains rest at the Bakke-Hanson funeral home until Saturday morning when services will be held at St. Patrick's church. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Mary's church cemetery, Lycurgus.
