Funeral services for Randy Sebastian were held Tuesday, July 7, 1998, at 11 a.m. in the Community Presbyterian Church at Postville, IA. The Rev. Gary Catterson officiated. The organist was Mrs. Beverly Bacon. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Randolph Lee (Williams) Sebastian, was born March 28, 1947 at Kansas City, Missouri. He was the adopted son of Harlan and Bernice (Moen) Sebastian. He died Friday night, July 3, 1998, in Gundersen Lutheran Hospital at LaCrosse, WI. He had reached the age of 51 years, 3 months and 5 days.

He was graduated from Postville High School in 1966. Randy entered the U.S. Army and served in Korea for 2 years. He was trained as a demolitions specialist and served in the Military Police. After Randy returned from the service, he entered the welding program at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids and graduated 2 years later.

On August 3, 1969 he was married to Dawn Boese. To this union 2 sons, Brandon and Damon, was born. Randy had been employed as a welder by Hygrade Food Products in Postville for 11 years and by the Swiss Valley Plant at Luana, IA for over 17 years.

Randy loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, trapping, boating and camping. He also liked to restore old cars.

He is survived by 2 sons, Brandon (Melinda) Sebastian and Damon Sebastian, all of Postville; one granddaughter, Linzie Sebastian; and his stepmother, Mrs. Frances Sebastian of Charles City, IA.

He is preceded in death by his father, Harlan, who died February 2, 1998 and his mother, Bernice, who died June 17, 1974, and a sister, Lisa Williams.

Randy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville and a past member of the Masonic Lodge.

Casket bearers were Dale Echard, David Long, Eugene Ferguson, Ronald Evanson, Kevin Loomis and Greg Boese.

Honorary casket bearers were Mark Boese, Robert Schara, Kent Boese, Victor Szabo, Loren Johnson and Carol Jones.
