Postville Review, Wed., 1 Sept. 1875.

DIED- Of spinal menengitis, on the 29th of August, 1875, A. M. J. Kovenig, only son of Joseph and Katherine Koevenig, aged 9 months and 19 days.

The bereaved parents have our heartfelt sympathy in this great trial. No one can realize the depth of woe and suffering experienced at such a time but the ones who have been called to lay their heartt's treasure in the cold ground and see the earth closed over their fondest hopes and brightest anticipations. Sympathy and love are all inadequate to bind up the bleeding heart. The Infinite One alone can say to the troubled spirit, "Peace, be still," and cause a holy feeling of resignation to pervade the troubled bosom.

Note: See the obit of Thoma, Catherine (nee ?) (Koevenig) 1847 - 1902. Possibly the mother, her 1st husband was Joseph Koevenig and she had an infant that died called Joseph.
