Chris Petrie, a well known Grand Meadow township farmer, died at his home Tuesday morning after a few days illness from pneumonia. His age was about 57 years. The funeral was from the German Lutheran church in this city yesterday afternoon, and the remains laid to rest in the German cemetery. When Rev. Gass began soliciting subscription for the building of the church in 1899, Mr. Petrie, then a member of the church council, was the first to sign the list with a donation of $100.
