Final Rites on Wednesday For Mrs. John Munz

Lansing—The sudden passing of Mrs. Anna Munz brought deep sorrow and sadness to relatives and the entire community early Monday morning. Although her failing health had been a constant source of concern to her family the last two years, her departure was unexpected.

Anna Margareth Welper was born Dec. 2, 1877, the daughter of Bernard and Fredrika Welper of Union City Township. She was baptized Feb. 2, 1878 at St. John's church. On April 26, 1891 she was confirmed in St. John's church, Eitzen, MN.

On January 18, 1900 she was united in marriage to George F. Munz, whose untimely passing in January of the following your left a grief stricken young mother to care for their infant son George. In 1901 on Dec. 27th she married John, the brother of her late husband, and in 1907 they moved to the farm near Village Creek which has since been her home.

Seven children were born to them; John B. and Theodore Munz of Lansing; five daughters: Mrs. Leroy (Mary) Phipps of Ridgeway; Mrs. R. (Clara) Bolsinger, who passed away March 16, of this year; Mrs. Carl (Anna) Peterson, Mrs. Urban (Dorothy) Strub and Ida at home. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister (in infancy) and three brothers and her husband John on Jan. 16, 1936. Also surviving are eight beloved grandchildren and three great grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Geo. Hagen, Mrs. Frank Buege, Mrs. Herman Renk of New Albin, Mrs, Louis Wiemerslage of Dorchester and Mrs. Chas. King of Waukon; three brothers, Walter, Benjamin, and William Welper of New Albin vicinity.

A loving and devoted mother, friend and good neighbor to all her acquaintances, thus she will live in our memory.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Federated Church with Rev. Calvin Willemssen officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Oak Hill Cemetery with the following casket bearers: Arthur Munz of Dubuque, Harold Ashbacher, Merle Welper, Dale Welper and Leland Wiemerslage of Dorchester, Jerome Renk of New Albin.
