The Lansing Mirror says that an Englishman named Abling Taft committed suicide by hanging, at the residence of Mr. James Banks, near Milton, in Allamakee county, last Tuesday evening. The manner in which he effected his death was by fastening one end of a scarf to the bed post and the other end around his neck and letting his body fall from the bed to the floor. It is supposed that he was laboring under a temporary fit of insanity, produced by drunkenness. He had been in this country only about two months.
