Claude Lane, 28, died Saturday afternoon at his home in Waukon following a long illness.

Lane was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Lane, who moved to Waukon from Dorchester recently. He was the nominee on the Democratic ticket for the Allamakee county clerk of court.

Surviving are his wife, the former Marjorie Duggan, three children, Larry, Garry and Kent; his parents, three brothers and five sisters, Earl in the army in Denver, Colo.; Jesse and Russell, Dorchester; Mrs. John Griffin, Waukon; Mrs. Gail Gantenbein, New Albin; Mrs. Raphael Teff and Mrs. Darwin Bernatz, Austin, and Mrs. Ollard Nyberg, Gunder, Ia.

Waukon, Ia. - funeral services for Claude Lane, 28, who died Saturday after an illness of several months, will be held from the Martin Brothers' funeral home to St. Patrick's church, Tuesday morning. Mr. Lane had been confined to St Mary's hospital, Rochester, Minn., where he submitted to several operations.

The mass of requiem will be celebrated by the Rev. Ernest J. McDonald, pastor. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Mr. Lane was born at Dorchester, Ia. March 2, 1916, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Russel Lane. The family moved to Waukon some years ago. In December, 1937, he was married in Dubuque, Ia. to Miss Margaret Duggan, of Waukon, and they have since resided here. He was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Larry, Gary and Kent; his parents; two brothers, Russel, Jr. and Jesse, both of Waukon; and five sisters, Mrs. John Griffin, Waukon, Mrs. Gail Gantenbein, New Albin, Ia., Mrs. Raphael Teff, and Mrs. Darwin Bernatz, both of Austin, Minn., and Mrs. Ollard Nyberg, Gunder, Ia.
