Postville Review, Sat., 25 Nov. 1893.

DRESSER - At the old homestead, north of Postville, on Monday evening, Nov. 20th, 1893, Mrs. Sallie Dresser, wife of Cavin Dresser, deceased, aged 81 years, 3 months and 8 days.

Mrs. Dresser was confined to her bed only about four weeks, no particular disease being apparent, but simply the wearing out and running down of the machinery of the body. Mrs. Dresser had lived on the farm where she died since 1855, and hence was well known to all our older citizens, and was much respected and esteemed by all who knew her. The funeral was held from the Methodist church on Wednesday afternoon. Like a shock of corn fully ripe she was gathered to her reward. Sympathy is extended to those who mourn.

Note: See obit of Calvin Dresser 1813 - 1892, which gives her maiden name as Hawkins. Calvin and Sallie are buried in area C of Postville cemetery.

Submitter is not related.
