A woodchopper by the name of Spores, of near Harpers Ferry, was struck by a train there last Thursday and died almost immediately.

Note: The Woodmansee burial book lists:

Spores, David S., born 4 Aug. 1851, died 28 Nov. 1918, buried in Harpers Ferry Cemetery.

There is another male Spores listed in another cemetery without a death date given.

This news article may be worded incorrectly. "two weeks ago yesterday" would indicate a death date of 28 Nov. 1918, matching that of David S. Spores.

Submitter is not related.
