Postville Review, Fri., 21 Aug. 1914.

Chas. Ohloff was born in Mecklenburg, Germany, April 15, 1867, and the following year came to America with his parents. August 27, 1898, he was married to Mary Krogmann of this city, which union was blessed with seven children all of whom are living save one child which died in infancy. After a lingering illness Mr. Ohloff died at midnight of Thursday, Aug. 13, 1914, aged 46 years, 3 months and 29 days. His wife, two sons, four daughters, a brother and many relatives and friends survive him.

Charley Ohloff was an honest, sober, hard working man, a good husband, father and citizen. He was founder and owner of the West Side Nursury and truck farm, which from a small beginning he developed into a profitable business. He was a member of the Workman, Yeoman and Modern Brotherhood lodges of this city, in which he carried $4,000 insurance.

The funeral was held from the Lutheran church at two o'clock on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 16th, conducted by Rev. E. Schmidt, and the large crowd present fully attested the high standing of the deceased in this community. Interment in Postville cemetery.

In this connection the family wish to thank the friends for their many kindnesses during the last illness and burial of their beloved husband and father.
