Richard Berg

Richard A. Berg, 39, died Jan. 26, 1985 at University Hospitals in Iowa City. The body was cremated and memorial services conducted Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Prairie du Chien, with interment of remains in the Evergreen Cemetery, Prairie du Chien. The family has requested memorians to the American Cancer Foundation.

He was born May 26, 1945 in Waukon Hospital. The son of Arvey N. and Cecilia (Nolan) Berg. He was baptized at East Clermont Lutheran Church and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Postville. He attended the Postville Community Schools, graduating in 1963.

He received a B.A. degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1968 and a master of fine arts degree from the University of South Carolina in 1983. He was employed 12 years by the Santa Fe Railroad in Los Angeles.

Survivors include his parents, who live at 320 E. Wisconsin St, Prairie du Chien, WI 53821, a brother, Robert of Minneapolis and 2 nephews, Shon and Ryan Berg.
