Dora Franklin was born in Post township; Allamakee township, Allamakee County, Iowa, February 25, 1387. When but a girl she united with the Methodist church in Postville, and was always a faithful worker in Sunday school and league.

On June 22, 1910, she was married to Eugene Chase since which time they have lived in Britt, Iowa, until one year ago they move to Spirit Lake. She passed from this life on March 27, 1915, at the age of 28 years, 1 month and 2 days.

She leaves a husband, two children, mother, two brothers, and one sister to mourn her loss. A large circle of relatives and friends will also be deeply grieved by her death.

The remains were brought to Postville and the funeral services were held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon.

The following is from the Britt Tribune: Word came from Spirit Lake yesterday morning that Mrs. E. W. Chase was lying at the point of death and the relatives were summoned to that place. The D. W. Chase family left on the afternoon train, but shortly after the train left the Tribune received a message stating that she was dead. Mrs. Chase lived in Britt for several years when Mr. Chase was agent at the C.M. & St. depot and made a great mang friends while here who became deeply attached to her.

She was a member of the Britt Chapter O.E.S. and was always prominent in church circles. A good woman and a tender and loving wife and mother has gone who will be sadly missed both here and at Spirit Lake. She leaves a husband, a little son three years old and an infant daughter of only a few weeks who will never realize a true mothers care. The stricken family have the sympathy of a host of friends at Britt.
